Cadets
Current High Sheriff Police Cadet 25/26 - Sgt Rosie Gill
The current High Sheriff Cadet is Sgt Rosie Gill from the Glossop section.
Since joining in 2023, Rosie has embraced all that volunteering with Derbyshire Police Cadets has to offer. From reading a prayer at the High Sheriffs’ Legal Service in Derby Cathedral after only a couple of weeks after joining, to completing her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in her second year.
She has participated in Operation Keepsafe, marched in Remembrance Day commemorations in Buxton & Glossop, and attended the VE Day 80 concert in London.
Rosie has thrown herself into getting as much out of being a cadet as she can in her pursuit of a future career as a Police Officer. Rosie is delighted to take up the role from July 2025
High Sheriff Cadet 24/25 - Darcy Payton
For a number of years the High Sheriff of Derbyshire has had an established relationship with Derbyshire Police Cadets. The Cadets provide support to the High Sheriff during their year of Office by occasionally attending events with them but importantly they provide real input and support during the Legal Service which takes place on the second Sunday of October in every year at Derby Cathedral.
The Cadets on this occasion escort guests, provide support to Judges by looking after their robes and form a guard of honour into the Cathedral on the day. The High Sheriff puts a huge value on the relationship and the support and encouragement that it provides to the Police Officers of the future!
